How It Works
How Does It Work?

- 28 hours of learning per week Written Student Learning Plan written by FFP teachers
- Weekly contact with the student and FFP teacher
- Monthly Progress Reports showcasing learning towards WSLP (Common Core State Standards)
- 20 hours: English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Arts
- 5 hours: Math
- 3 hours: Physical Education & Health
Weekly Contact Example:
Students must maintain weekly contact (it must be the student) using phone, Zoom, email, or in-person classes.
- If you take an in-person class, this is your weekly contact
- If you don't take an in-person class, there will be a writing prompt
- Writing Prompts:
- A writing prompt is sent each Monday. Your student will have until Friday of that same week to respond. Your teacher will respond with feedback
- Students may type a response themselves. If your student is younger, you may type what they say. A picture of written responses is also acceptable.
- Writing prompt example: Would you rather live in the city or the country? Why?
- POOR RESPONSE: "I like it."
- STRONG RESPONSE: "I would rather live in the city. I like that there are more things to do. Everything is much closer together and you could walk places easier. A city means more people to meet and do things with.”
POOR RESPONSE: "I like it."
STRONG RESPONSE: "I would rather live in the city. I like that there are more things to do. Everything is much closer together and you could walk places easier. A city means more people to meet and do things with.”

The Written Student Learning Plan is the document which identifies the course descriptions, learning materials, instructional goals (Common Core State Standards), activities, and assessment methods that will be used to guide student progress through the year. Families will collaborate with a FFP certificated staff member who will create a WSLP to establish each student's individual learning goals for the year. The plan should be of sufficient scope and depth to guide the student in meeting their educational goals. Families are welcome to make changes or add to the WSLP at any time with a FFP certificated teacher.

-
- FFP is not a five-day a week or online program
- FFP does not follow the same instructional model as our brick and mortar schools. If you are enrolled in the FFP, that will become your assigned school. However, if you should decide to transition back to your neighborhood school we will support families in that process.
- FFP is not a social program for homeschool families as there are academic expectations outlined by the teacher and the co-created student learning plan.
